WEATHER TRENDS
A regular and very good year in Tuscany, especially in Bolgheri. After a mild and rainy autumn, the end of winter was characterised by colder temperatures until early March. The continuation of spring and summer was optimal with sunny days but never excessive temperatures. The sea breezes that occurred during the month of August favoured the phenolic ripening of the grapes. The harvest took place regularly and with optimal weather that lasted until the end of October.
FERMENTATION
Maceration of the skins and alcoholic fermentation took place over approximately 14 days, followed by malolactic fermentation.
AGEING
The vintage remained 20 months in 60% French oak barrels (of which 2/3 were new and 1/3 first/second passage) and 40% Yugoslavian (half new and half first/second passage).
