SOIL STYLE

The soils on which the vineyards stand has varied and complex terrain features with a strong presence of limestone, feature areas rich in marl and pebbles as well as being partly clayey. The production facilities are located at an average altitude of between 80 and 400 metres above sea level, with a west/south-west exposure.

WEATHER TRENDS

Another excellent year that resulted in wines of great elegance and ample structure. Autumn and winter had average temperatures and frequent rainfall. Regular spring with alternating rainfall and summer characterised by good weather and average temperatures. Only between the end of July and the first ten days of August were they above average, but then stabilised until the end of the harvest. This was an outstanding year.

FERMENTATION

Maceration took place for 12 days in stainless steel vats, deliberately short due to the exuberance of the tannins extracted from the skins.

AGEING

The wine was aged for 22 months in barrels of which 60% new and 40% first and second passage (the wood was 60% French and 40% Yugoslavian).
